Anton Corbijn

Dutch photographer and film director Anton Corbijn is renowned for his black and white portraits of music icons, from Sinead O’Connor and Nirvana, to Depeche Mode and Nick Cave. He discovered photography though his love for music while still at high school in Holland.
Corbijn defined how music in the ‘80s and ‘90s looked and felt. His breakthrough came in 1979 with a black-and-white grainy shot of Joy Division, published in NME. Today widely regarded as one of the most influential photographers both in the world of music and in the world of portraiture photography.
