Sosa Joseph

b. 1971

Indian artist Sosa Joseph was born in Parumala, Kerala. She studied painting at the Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts, Kerala and at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Sosa currently lives and works across Kochi and Bangalore.

Sosa’s work is extremely atmospheric and often features figures from her personal life intermingling with ambiguous symbols and motifs from the natural world.

Her works are housed in the public collections of Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, New Delhi and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
