Electra Simon’s ‘Confessions’ opened this week, and naturally, we had to be there. Over the next six weeks, Simon will transform the gallery into an intimate, private enclave, a space for quiet disclosure amid the rush of Harlesden in North London.
Passersby are invited to book one-hour, one-to-one sessions and share anything – and everything – no holds barred. Separated by a delicate lace curtain that bisects the room, artist and participant remain unseen by one another, preserving anonymity while heightening intimacy. As each confession unfolds, Simon works in her half of the space, producing monoprints shaped by the tenor, texture, and emotional residue of the exchange. The opening night on Monday evening drew a bustling crowd of both loyal HHS followers and curious passersbys. Were you papped?
