Plaster Shoots: here’s what went down at The Burrow

‘It may be dark, so watch your step…’ After leaving much to the imagination, The Burrow presented its second exhibition last weekend. Photographer Jamal Springer-Lynch heads to the East End to get the lowdown

The Burrow doesn’t give much away. The illusive collective launched its first exhibition ‘Playground’ in Glasgow earlier this year with the promise that ‘it’ll all make sense eventually’. For the second instalment of its mysterious invitation, Plaster sent Jamal Springer-Lynch down to the launch of ‘Memory’ to see what’s what. Set across a derelict industrial building in Haggerston that looks like the sort of building that houses Victorian ghosts, The Burrow invited guests to ‘revisit their own pasts’ and ‘offer a space for introspection and communal reflection’.

With a number of haunting performances, heightened in intensity by their ominously dark surroundings, ‘Memory’ seeks to ‘foster a collective understanding’ through a visual and auditory collection of works.
