On 26th August, Harlesden High Street saluted the late artist Darryl ‘Joe Cool’ Daniel (AKA NASTYDOGG) with an exhibition and memorial cookout. His artwork has appeared on the covers of millions of records, most notably on the cover of his cousin Snoop Dogg’s smash success, ‘DoggyStyle’. But Cool’s legacy extended far beyond the art world. The Long Beach, California-based artist was known for his collaborations with major brands like ADIDAS, 7-11 and Supreme, as well as touring worldwide with Snoop Dogg. Despite battling addiction, he later focused on art therapy, leaving behind a powerful collection of unseen works and custom clothing. The memorial event brought the people of London together for a post-Notting Hill Carnival bash.
