Esteban Jefferson was born and based in New York. He studied at Columbia University, where he received his BA and MFA. His practice explores themes related to race, identity and the enduring impacts of colonialism. With a characteristically raw and investigative style, Jefferson employs photography, drawing, painting, and sound installations to document his subjects.
