Harley Weir

b. 1988

One of the most celebrated photographers of the last decade, Harley Weir (b. 1988) was born and raised in London, where she currently lives. A self-taught photographer and director, she graduated from Central St Martins College of Art and Design with a BA in Fine Art in 2010 before working as a photographer’s assistant.

Known for the intimacy of her images across her personal, commercial and editorial work in the fashion industry, Weir has a highly considered approach to materials, colour, and composition. Although primarily making a name for herself through shooting youth-focused campaigns for the likes of Celine, Stella McCartney, and Balenciaga, the photographer has established an honest and liberating take on womanhood and the female gaze.

Her work has been published by Vogue ItaliaL’Uomo VogueAmerican VogueThe FaceRe-EditionSelf-ServiceW MagazineDazedPopMarfa JournalBritish VogueT Magazinei-DAnOtherSystem and M Le Monde.
