Jem Perucchini

Ethiopian-Italian artis Jem Perucchini was born in Tekeze, Ethiopia in 1995. His work is greatly influenced by Italian art history. Perucchini sources imagery from various periods and archetypes to create his paintings, including the Early Renaissance, African traditions and Christian iconography. From 2016 to 2021 he studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, Italy, where he currently lives and works.
Perucchini’s work has been exhibited in galleries across Europe, including Monash University Museum of Art, Melbourne and the Italian Embassy, London and Corvi-Mora, London. The artist has also been featured in publications such as AnOther Magazine, Vogue Italia and The Financial Times. In 2023 he received Paris’ Jean-François Prat award.
