Matthew Barney

American artist Matthew Barney was born in San Francisco. He graduated from Yale University in 1989 and currently lives and works in New York. Famed for his expansive cinematic and sculptural projects, burst onto the art scene in the early 1990s. Known for exploring the body’s physical limits and boundaries, Barney’s work delves deeply into a materialist aesthetic, reflecting a profound fascination with the human form.
Barney has exhibited at major institutions worldwide, including the Museum Ludwig, Cologne; Solomon R.
